Getting in the mood for the German Painting and Varnishing Museum in Hamburg

The museum shows the 800-year history of the painting trade. Historical documents, journeyman's and master's certificates, guild objects and examination papers impressively illustrate the working techniques and lifestyles of the different generations of painters.
